The Eastern Canada Pandemic Preparedness Hub (ECaPPH) recently welcomed delegates from the Emergency Medical Countermeasures Funders Forum to Université de Montréal for a high-level exchange on best practices in pandemic preparedness.
Organized by Health Emergency Readiness Canada (HERC), the visit provided an opportunity to showcase the progress of several projects supported by ECaPPH, as well as the expertise of academic and industry partners helping strengthen Canada’s pandemic preparedness capabilities.
Presentations highlighted projects including PANDEMIC-StopAI, POPCORN 2.0, Biologics RAMP-UP, and the National Primate Centre for Pandemic Preparedness (NPCPP). Ecosystem partners, including Mila, IVADO, and D2R | DNA to RNA, also shared their work and expertise.
The delegation also visited the Continuous Flow Synthesis Centre led by Professor André B. Charette at Université de Montréal.
This event highlighted the strength of Québec’s and Canada’s pandemic preparedness ecosystem and the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and public institutions to strengthen resilience against future health crises.
